My objective is for every athlete that I ever coach to realize that those of us who demand their best are also the ones who care about them the most.
Choosing a coach is a big deal. I know this because I can give much of the credit for my success to several coaches I've been lucky enough to have throughout my softball career. I fell in love with the sport of softball at an early age when I learned the art of fast-pitch from the renowned pitching coach Danny Greathouse. I remain friends to this day with Eddie Lantzer, who was the assistant coach when I played in high school and is now the head coach at my alma mater. I consider my college coach, Sandy Douglas (known simply as "Coach") to be one of the biggest influential figures in my life.
Last but not least and certainly most importantly, I credit my Dad, Jim Malson, who tirelessly coached and endlessly supported my dreams and goals and remains my coaching inspiration to this day. Carrying on the legacy of my parents, I continue to be active in youth sports and am proud to give back to the community as a softball coach. I feel fortunate to participate in the sport I love and to have the privilege to coach so many amazing young people for numerous years.

To call Carrie Grant just a softball coach would be an understatement. She has taught my daughter softball for years throughout her childhood and adolescence. To my daughter she is a friend and confidant and someone she will always remember. Carrie is an expert in softball with an amazing history in the sport. I have witnessed Carrie transform teams and increase skill level with so many girls. To play for Carrie is a privilege and my daughter is so fortunate to have played for her for all these years. With her superior talent and skill, she is able to pass on her knowledge to thriving softball players while adding fun and comradery. Carrie Grant would be a perfect high school softball coach.
I watched you and your team on the field today. You're a natural! Good luck next season.
